Play Therapy Services

Since 2000, more than 1,000 children have benefited from approximately 7,000 therapy sessions. Research correlating play therapy activity with increased academic success is currently being conducted.

Nana's Children has three main program objectives:

1.To deliver services daily for a 37-week period of the school year.

2.To train and develop future therapists in play therapy to meet the overwhelming need for developmentally appropriate mental health for children.

3.To provide in depth research to worldwide play therapists and provide a replicable model of our program. We are currently operating five days per week in the Washington Elementary School District.

Nana’s Program for the school year 2008/2009 will begin with a one week training during the month of August for 10 Masters and Doctorate level students accepted into our program. The actual delivery of services will begin September 2008 to May 2009 for 35 weeks. APA regulations require that practicum students be supervised by a Licensed Psychologist.
