Nana's Children Mental Health Foundation, Inc. is
dedicated to providing life-changing mental health support
for homeless and impoverished children through a model which
utilizes the child's most accurate form of communication:
PLAY! Although play therapy has been systematically documented,
and in use, for more than half a century, what is innovative
is its delivery within the school setting.
The Power of One
Ask Ana Sutton how Nana's Children Mental Health Foundation,
Inc. came to be and her face will light up. "It's a story
of the Power of One."
One chance viewing of Good Morning America segment on
a school for children of homeless and Impoverished families in Phoenix Arizona;
One visit to the school to see how she could help;
One little girl at the school with a tragic past who
regained her sense of self through play therapy;
One clear vision of how play therapy could make a
positive and profound difference in the lives of other
children;
One community of colleagues, family and friends who
shared her vision...
"Just that one little segment on the morning news and a few
short years later we are serving hundreds of children of
homeless and impoverished families a year. What a testament to the power of
one!"
